The World in Hands Foundation works for the benefit of people with visual and/or hearing disabilities, in particular deafblind people. We organise individual and group support for people with sensory disabilities in Warsaw and the surrounding area. If you would like to get involved in volunteering for deafblind people – join us!

As part of volunteering we offer:

  • the opportunity to learn about alternative communication methods (including Lorm alphabet, tactile and visual dactylography and the basics of sign language);
  • the opportunity to learn techniques for guiding a deafblind person;
  • experience in putting the above skills into practice through accompanying deafblind people, including at meetings we organise;
  • training to improve competences, including training of guide-interpreters for the deafblind.

You will learn everything you need to know with us. We do not expect from the candidates any previous experience or specialised education.

We invite people who have time at weekends (regular Deafblind Club meetings are held on Saturdays) or during the week (deafblind people often need individual support during the week, also in the middle of the day).

People who are interested and want to explore the world of silence and darkness are invited to apply at [email protected].
